ISNHS 124TH FOUNDATION DAYYY

Parading on the streets of Vigan wasn't that bad because of our costumes and props shielding us from the heat. But it definitely did not shield us from the words the people said. Although their words were more on the funny side rather than the insulting side, I think it was still a bit racist and quite stereotyping because a man said something like us being involved with missiles and bombs during the parade. Like, my head is hurting a bit from the braids and this dude just had to say that out loud, lmao. Although it was quite a weird experience, we still carried on, I suppose. Till we saw someone from the back faint and got rushed to the nearest school, like, zamnnn...

Anyways, once we were done with the parade, we also had time to watch other performances.

For 7th grade girls, I really liked their performance because it reminded me of the dance we had to do back in Nan Chong, which was to make a big flower with fans.

I don't really know with the 7th-grade boys' performance, though. I was already in my classroom when they started.

The performance of the 8th-grade girls left me amazed because they kept performing even though their music stopped midway. My friend from that grade kind of mentioned that someone might have sabotaged them at the time.

I also liked the boys' performance because I loved the movie Coco as a kid.

But I only watched it for a bit because I went back to the classroom to take off the braids in my hair.

For 9th grade girls, I liked the way they switch colors. Their Disney reference was a great movie because it showed some of our culture like arnis.

And I was absolutely laughing my face off when it was the turn of the 9th-grade boys because I recognized that some of their sound effects were from the game Dead Rails on Roblox. It was absolutely hilarious, to the point where I think one of the practice teachers helped make their music. I even saw their performance on my fyp.

The performance of the boys in our grade however...they were kinda terrible, but not completely, no offense. Their props were good, but they weren't really in sync, the same as us girls, lolz.

I felt like I was in a cult here.

As for the ates and kuyas in the 11th grade, I could not watch them because I had to take my rest after being under the sun.

My Last Junior Highschool Days: A Last Quarter Reflection

As the days of my JHS are finally ending, I now feel quite sentimental about the days when I was still in 7th grade and knew no one, except for this extroverted guy that I got seated with on the 1st day and called me emo because I was in all black. But as time passed, I have come to know most of the people in SSC and have become close to a couple of them.

Just like in this quarter's lesson, and all the other lessons before it. You will never learn what it is, unless you start seeing it every time and ingrain it in your mind. That can also be said as you will never really learn what a person is unless you start talking to them every time and ingrain it in your mind, just in case the one reading it doesn't get it.

This quarter's lesson also helped me understand that little parts make a whole. Like the parts of the Microsoft Front Page.

The people who played little parts in your life make a whole of you.

In web design, a functional site isn't just one big image; it's a collection of table cells, tiny image files, hyperlinks, and specific lines of code. If one tag is broken, the whole page might look off.

I've realized that my time in JHS has been a process of web development. A character development.

The classroom environment provided the structure, much like a table or a frame, within which I could grow.  Every conversation I had acted as a link, connecting my world to someone else's.  Every person I've met, even those who played "little parts" or appeared for just one session, has contributed a specific element to my identity.  Just as FrontPage allows you to see the design view and the split view simultaneously, I can now look back at my four years and see both the result and the underlying work. These four years haven't been perfect because I have been bullied verbally a few times during my time here, but that's also what makes a person somewhat perfect. Since the end of the school year is approaching, I have decided to forgive them, although I don't think they would even care about that. I suppose it's just me letting go of a grudge, but not forgetting what that experience has made me into. houyyy parang cringe lmao/kimi ts probs why I was bullied lol

As I prepare to close this chapter of my life and move on from JHS, I realize that I am a finished project made of countless small, essential fragments. I am leaving with a mind ingrained with knowledge and a heart full of the people who helped complete my Front Page.

A Woman's Value is...? : A Women's Month Appreciation

"It's not an act of love if you force her," stated by Paris Paloma in her song "Labour,"

which makes me think, do we truly know our women's value? We should not only value women on "Women's Day" as if that's the only day they're important. We should also realize the things they have done for us. We should acknowledge our female OFWs

who make up 58% of its workforce, and other working women who work diligently for their families at home, and for themselves, and to help other people. Likewise, we should also respect women for managing to populate the earth, because essentially, aside from god, they are also our creators who have definitely suffered when carrying us in their womb, as pregnancy can cause depression.

But how do we treat our women? According to the WHO, nearly 1 in 3 women (about 840 million globally) have experienced partner or sexual violence during their lifetime, a figure that has barely changed since 2000. Not only the women, but 11% of girls, meaning children who were barely 16, experienced physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner. Not only that, but It finds 263 million women have experienced non-partner sexual violence since age 15, a figure experts caution is significantly under-reported due to stigma and fear. We should appreciate them every day, especially the mothers who have cared for us and the people who have been mother figures for us. As 2Pac has said before,

"And since we all came from a woman

Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman

I wonder why we take from our women

Why we rape our women do we hate our women?

I think it's time to kill for our women

Time to heal our women, be real to our women.

And if we don't we'll have a race of babies

That will hate the ladies that make the babies

And since a man can't make one

He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one."

My Dream, My Future: Chemist or Architect?

With graduation almost approaching, I've come across what all students need to deliberate for their future. Their dream job. The conundrum of choosing between having a chemistry degree

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saANxD0cqy0

and an architecture degree

https://thearchitectsdiary.com/should-i-study-interior-design-or-architecture/

was one of the many things I have had to deliberate for quite a long time. I also had another option before, which was studying psychology,

but I then realized that human interaction for more than 1 hour would drain me.

So then I narrowed down my choices to chemistry and architecture. After the day today, I made a pros and cons in my mind after chemistry and architecture. For the pros in chemistry, I like the way a chemical reaction happens, and I am deeply interested in how it happens. Another thing that I am amazed with chemistry is how you can turn a material into a completely different one. For example, turning plastic gloves into hot sauce, or cotton balls into cotton candy.

The cons however, are that it covers too many fields and can get you into jobs like analytical chemist, laboratory technician, materials scientist, toxicologist, pharmaceutical scientist, and quality control inspector, and etc. I know within myself that I could not possibly remember all the terms that are to be taught, and I am easily distracted.

Sometimes when lessons get too long, my mind starts drifting into Dreamland and think about what I should've brought today and should bring tomorrow. With the pros in architecture, it seems to be more specified and one track, unlike chemistry. I also quite like drawing things too. It is also the closest degree I can get to fashion. The cons however is that I am not that good at math. Even during lessons, sometimes I start to think about something else, like, "where else would I see my crush I wonder"

and that's when I sometimes get lost in the lesson. However, that is easily addressed once I drink sting, or watch a YouTube tutorial,

or simply doing a sample problem by myself along with notes from a classmate. Comparing these, the cons in architecture had more solutions than the one in chemistry, and the pros were more favorable for me. So from today onward, I shall strive to do well in architecture. I would save more money since I would be designing my own house anyway.
